Smooth finish mule mugs
I havenāt given them as a gift yet, but soon. I was happy with appearance and engraving, but like another person whose review I read, Iām disappointed with the weight. I expected them to be thicker and heavier. I ordered personal engraving , though, so Iām stuck with that, which was the problem, this is the only place I could find that offered engraving in Solid Copper cups. The order was filled speedily.

Thank you for your feedback. Many people are surprised by the weight of solid copper because itās easy to assume it should feel similar to stainless steel. Copper actually serves a different purpose. Its job is to quickly transfer the cold from your drink to the outside of the mug, creating that frosty, chilled effect. A thick copper wall isnāt needed to achieve this, since copper is an exceptional thermal conductor.
Stainless steel, on the other hand, is a much stronger and more rigid metal but a poor thermal conductor, which is why stainless products often require added insulation or thicker walls.
Copper is naturally delicate, softer and more malleable, so thereās a balance between durability and maintaining the effectiveness of its temperature transfer. We use a heavier gauge copper than many manufacturers while still keeping the mug at a comfortable, practical weight.

THE HISTORY OF OUR MUGS
Our story starts in 1941, when Sophie Berezinski (the great-grandmother of our founder) came to the United States with 2,000 solid copper mugs that she helped design with her father. She had a serendipitous meeting with the owner of the Cock ānā Bull pub in Los Angeles and the original importer of Smirnoff Vodka. Together, they perfected the recipe for the original Moscow Mule, served in the copper mugs that would keep the cocktail bracingly cold and become their signature.
GENUINEĀ COPPER FINISH
Because they are made from 100% pure copper, our mugs will naturally acquire a classic patina over the years. The patina which does not damage the metal and is often prized by collectors as a symbol of the mugsā history and longevity.
Donāt want a patina? No problem. Occasionally applying Penny Brite copper cleaner, specially formulated for copper cookware, will maintain the mugsā glossy, like-new shine.
